Portree, the capital of Skye, is 12 miles from Half of Three and has a good selection of shops, restaurants, swimming pool, library, boat trips, pubs, live music and ceilidh entertainment.  The Aros Centre has a cinema/theatre. There is also a hospital and 2 filling stations. 

Uig, 6 miles north of us, has a shop/bakery, hotel and pubs. The famous Isle of Skye beer is brewed there and it is the home of the Isle of Skye pottery where you can experience making and painting your own pots.

North of Uig there is Whitewaves, an outdoor centre providing various activites from canoeing to archery.  Further north on the Trotternish peninsula is Kilmuir where there is a museum showing Island Llfe as it used to be. Flora Macdonald, who helped Bonnie Prince Charlie to escape is buried in the cemetery there.

Dunvegan to the west , with it's castle, beautiful gardens and boat trips to see the seals is a must,as is the Coral beach.  There are art galleries, a museum of piping, the famous Three Chimneys Restaurant and many other attractions in the area.  You can visit the Talisker distillery and sample the finest whisky, go horse riding or play a round of golf.

Then of course there are the Cuillin mountains, beaches, coastal walks and so much else. There is something for everyone.  Why not come and see for yourselves!
